Hello Everyone,

The CMHS Aquatics Boosters is a volunteer run non-profit association with a minimum of three board members. Each serving 1 year terms. Our ByLaws require an annual nominating committee to identify potential board members, present a slate for consideration, and then election is open to all members at the general meeting.

Ideally, our nominating committee will present a slate of potential directors by the April meeting with Voting by the May meeting. We are looking for the following Executive Board, July, 2019 to June, 2020 Fiscal Year:
• President (Nigel Fisher, available for continuation)
• Treasurer (Geoff Harrington, available for continuation)
• Secretary (Jacquie Blair, available for continuation)

If you are interested in participating in on the Executive board or on the Nominating committee, please reach out to Jacquie Blair at jacquieblair@sbcglobal.net or 714-227-0317.

The goal is to propose a slate of officers selected from the member (or expected incoming Freshman) group at our next meeting. If you are interested in serving in any of the following capacities, please let me know. We are looking for 8th-10th grade parents so that we have some sustainability.

President:
• Ability to attend Executive Meetings and General meetings (typically monthly on 2nd Wednesday from 6-7pm)
• Propose agenda and lead a meeting
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to organize/assist on fundraiser annually to support super boosters taxes and insurance and accounting fees
• Signature authority on Bank Account
• Willingness to serve your child’s school community and make a difference!

Secretary:
• Ability to attend Executive Meetings and General meetings (typically monthly on 2nd Wednesday from 6-7pm)
• Prepare Agenda, Take minutes, Document Resolutions
• Good communication skills
• Maintain records
• Signature authority on Bank Account
• Willingness to serve your child’s school community and make a difference!

Treasurer:
• Ability to attend Executive Meetings and General meetings (typically monthly on 2nd Wednesday from 6-7pm)
• Good communication skills
• Develop and monitor annual budget
• Produce treasurer’s reports and quickbooks reports
• Signature authority on Bank Account
• Willingness to serve your child’s school community and make a difference!

We will not be voting at the next meeting, only accepting nominations.

Membership Committee Chair Person
The membership chairperson is overall responsible to the CMHS Aquatics Booster Club board and membership for the membership of the club.
Membership Purpose: The purpose of having members is a) to ensure that the booster club meets its requirements as a non-profit entity and b) to provide a source of funding to the booster club.
Membership: Currently membership is open to alumni of the aquatics program, parents of current participants, and coaches.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Establish membership goals
• Review membership pricing and propose alternate fee structure if necessary to maximize the collections and membership count
• Promote membership to non-members
• Keep membership records
• Communicate to the membership about the membership count

Period: The Chair shall be appointed by the board for 1 school year.
Committee: The Chair person shall recruit a membership committee if the person deems it necessary to accomplish the work required.
Benefits: As an incentive to volunteer for this job the Chair shall receive a custom volunteer CMHS Aquatics Booster Club sweatshirt during the fall season.

CMHS Webmaster
The webmaster is overall responsible to the CMHS Aquatics Booster Club board and membership for the team website, Facebook page, Instagram and collection of news for the club.
Purpose: The webmaster shall ensure that the club electronic communication and social media channels of communication are up to date, easy to use and utilized by the booster members and teams.
Specific Responsibilities:
• The webmaster shall be responsible for the booster email, website, Instagram and Facebook page including:
o Ensuring up to date information and communication to members and teams.
o Posting up to date availability of results and schedules (coaches are responsible to summarize each event)
o Promoting the use of the media as a means of communication for CMHS Boosters
• Webmaster shall review other new social media channels on a regular basis and recommend the use of this media to the board and membership in order to drive attention to the club and teams. These include among others:
o Twitter
• Coordinate with team photographers to ensure that up to date pictures are available in media.
• Collecting current email addresses from parents and team from coaches and staff

Period: The coordinator shall be appointed by the 1 year.
Committee: The coordinator shall recruit a membership committee if the person deems it necessary to accomplish the work required.
Benefits: As an incentive to volunteer for this job the Chair shall receive a custom CMHS Aquatics Booster Club sweatshirt during the fall season.

Fundraising Committee Chair Person
The fundraising chairperson is overall responsible to the CMHS Aquatics Booster Club board and membership for the fundraisers of the club for Boy’s polo, Girl’s polo, Swim team, and Summer (there are four different roles). The chair shall be responsible assembling a team of volunteers if necessary to accomplish the work outlined below.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for the funds raised at the fundraiser prior to delivery to the club treasurer.
• Communicate to the membership regarding the progress towards the fundraising goals.
Boy’s Polo/Girl’s Polo/Swim
• Banner Sales/Donations
• Help Coaches with Tournaments and Swim events (Invitational and Swimathon)
• Bingo nights
• (optional) Explore additional opportunities if needed
o E.g. Christmas Tree, Wreath Sales, Wahoo’s Nights, Chipolte, etc.
Summer
• Fireworks Booth
• Fair Parking

Period: The Chair shall be appointed by the board for each program and summer.
Committee: The Chair person shall recruit a membership committee if the person deems it necessary to accomplish the work required.
Benefits: As an incentive to volunteer for this job the Chair shall receive a custom CMHS Aquatics Booster Club sweatshirt during the fall season.

Team Event Coordinator
The team coordinator is overall responsible to the CMHS Aquatics Booster Club board and membership for the team events for Boy’s polo, Girl’s polo, Swim team, and Summer (there are four different roles).
Purpose: The coordinator shall help foster camaraderie and team bonding/spirit through organized events for the various teams.
Specific Responsibilities:
• The events shall at a minimum include:
o 3 team building dinners for each program (boy’s polo, girl’s polo, swim team)
o Awards Banquet
o (optional) Additional Team building events

• Confirm schedule at each board meeting.
• Coordinate need for volunteers and off school events.
• (optional) Solicit donations to support events

Period: The Chair shall be appointed by the board for each program and summer.
Committee: The coordinator shall recruit a membership committee if the person deems it necessary to accomplish the work required.
Benefits: As an incentive to volunteer for this job the Chair shall receive a custom CMHS Aquatics Booster Club sweatshirt during the fall season.


Snack Bar Coordinator
The snack bar coordinator is overall responsible to the CMHS Aquatics Booster Club board and membership for Boy’s polo, Girl’s polo, Swim team.
Snack Bar Purpose: The coordinator shall ensure that drinks and snacks are sold at home games and meets to raise money for the club.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Gather Donations/ Purchase snack bar items that are needed to be sold in snack bar.
• Ensure snack bar staffing.
• Collect and count money from snack bar sales and hand to club treasurer.

Period: The coordinator shall be appointed for each program
Committee: The Chair person shall recruit a membership committee if the person deems it necessary to accomplish the work required.

Hi!

Due to our away swim meet at Saddleback High this Wednesday, the CMHS Booster Meeting has been rescheduled to Monday March 18th at 6pm.

We hope to see you there.

The next CMHS aquatics booster meeting will be next Wednesday, March 13th at 6pm in the pool deck team room. Everyone is welcome. We hope to see you there!
