Hello Everyone,

Our next Boosters Meeting is Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at 5 p.m. or immediately following the swim meet. One of the agenda items is the nominations process to identify potential board members. The slate is presented in April, so please come to the March 10th meeting to learn more or reach out to a current board member and /or the nominating committee members (contact info below)

The CMHS Aquatics Boosters is a volunteer run non-profit association with a minimum of three board members. Each serving 1 year terms. Our ByLaws require an annual nominating committee to identify potential board members, present a slate for consideration, and then election is open to all members at the general meeting.

Our nominating committee will present a slate of potential directors by the April meeting with Voting by the May meeting. We are looking for the following Executive Board, July, 2020 to June, 2021 Fiscal Year:
• President
• Treasurer
• Secretary

If you are interested in participating in on the Executive board or on the Nominating committee, please reach out to the nominating committee Kelly Anderson at mamakelly89@gmail.com or Marnie Dean at marnieshay@me.com. Please include your phone number in your email so they can contact you.

The goal is to propose a slate of officers selected from the member (or expected incoming Freshman) group at our next meeting. If you are interested in serving in any of the following capacities, please let me know. We are looking for 8th-10th grade parents so that we have some sustainability.

President:
• Ability to attend Executive Meetings and General meetings
• Propose agenda and lead a meeting
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to organize/assist on fundraiser annually to support super boosters taxes and insurance and accounting fees
• Signature authority on Bank Account
• Willingness to serve your child’s school community and make a difference!

Secretary:
• Ability to attend Executive Meetings and General meetings (typically monthly on 2nd Wednesday from 6-7pm)
• Prepare Agenda, Take minutes, Document Resolutions
• Good communication skills
• Maintain records
• Signature authority on Bank Account
• Willingness to serve your child’s school community and make a difference!

Treasurer:
• Ability to attend Executive Meetings and General meetings (typically monthly on 2nd Wednesday from 6-7pm)
• Good communication skills
• Develop and monitor annual budget
• Produce treasurer’s reports and quickbooks reports
• Signature authority on Bank Account
• Willingness to serve your child’s school community and make a difference!

We will not be voting at the next meeting, only accepting nominations.

Membership Committee Chair Person
The membership chairperson is overall responsible to the CMHS Aquatics Booster Club board and membership for the membership of the club.
Membership Purpose: The purpose of having members is a) to ensure that the booster club meets its requirements as a non-profit entity and b) to provide a source of funding to the booster club.
Membership: Currently membership is open to alumni of the aquatics program, parents of current participants, and coaches.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Establish membership goals
• Review membership pricing and propose alternate fee structure if necessary to maximize the collections and membership count
• Promote membership to non-members
• Keep membership records
• Communicate to the membership about the membership count

Period: The Chair shall be appointed by the board for 1 school year.
Committee: The Chair person shall recruit a membership committee if the person deems it necessary to accomplish the work required.


CMHS Webmaster
The webmaster is overall responsible to the CMHS Aquatics Booster Club board and membership for the team website, Facebook page, Instagram and collection of news for the club.
Purpose: The webmaster shall ensure that the club electronic communication and social media channels of communication are up to date, easy to use and utilized by the booster members and teams.
Specific Responsibilities:
• The webmaster shall be responsible for the booster email, website, Instagram and Facebook page including:
o Ensuring up to date information and communication to members and teams.
o Posting up to date availability of results and schedules (coaches are responsible to summarize each event)
o Promoting the use of the media as a means of communication for CMHS Boosters
• Webmaster shall review other new social media channels on a regular basis and recommend the use of this media to the board and membership in order to drive attention to the club and teams. These include among others:
o Twitter
• Coordinate with team photographers to ensure that up to date pictures are available in media.
• Collecting current email addresses from parents and team from coaches and staff

Period: The coordinator shall be appointed by the 1 year.
Committee: The coordinator shall recruit a membership committee if the person deems it necessary to accomplish the work required.

Join us at Descanso Restaurant for a Dine-Out night. 20% of your entire bill will be donated to the CMHS Aquatics program. Bring in the attached flyer or show it on your phone to qualify. Take out orders are valid as well. Not valid with specials or discounts.

The Costa Mesa Aquatics program has been invited to participate in a fundraising opportunity by volunteering at the Costa Mesa United Golf Tournament on January 20, 2020. We need 10-12 students and 2-4 parents to volunteer.

Thank you in advance for your group’s participation in the upcoming Mesa Verde Classic Charity Golf Tournament! Here are your details for the upcoming Mesa Verde Classic Tournament.

Date is January 20, 2020 Please read attire requirements and description of duties below.

MORNING SHIFT

Check-in Time: 7 AM

Check-in Location: A volunteer check in table will be set up in front of the clubhouse. Please provide one (1) adult to accompany your five (5) high school volunteers.

What to Wear: A Mesa Aquatics shirt with pants (preferably not jeans).

Description of Duties: Cooler set up. More information will be provided on site.

End Time: 10:30 AM

Misc: All high school volunteers will be provided an In-N-Out lunch after their shift. Please note that all high school volunteers must be picked up immediately after lunch and will not be allowed on the course due to safety reasons.

EVENING SHIFT

Check-in Time: 3:30 PM

Check-in Location: A volunteer area will be set up in back of the clubhouse. Please provide one (1) adult to accompany your five (5) high school volunteers.

What to Wear: A Mesa Aquatics shirt with pants (preferably not jeans). Consider having all of your volunteers bring a jacket or hoodie. It usually gets cold on the course at this time.
